Welcome to the University of California, Berkeley, the world's premier public university!

Every year, thousands of people from across the nation and around the world visit the tranquil, wooded 178-acre central campus of UC Berkeley—or as many people call it, Cal. Most of them do so under the expert guidance of a Cal Ambassador, one of the corps of enthusiastic and knowledgeable student tour guides employed by the Visitors Center. On one of our free guided campus walking tours for individuals and families, or the inexpensive group tours, you will learn not only about the campus's top architectural and historical landmarks, but also about the university's history and culture from a student perspective. (Can't wait? Find out more on UC Berkeley's About page.)

For times and dates of tours and campus holidays, please consult our schedule and our separate group tour schedule; for a complete menu of visitor services and related information, browse the list of links at left.
