Reserved group tours

Reservations are required for parties of 10 or more, school and community groups, non-profit organizations, camps, and tour companies. Private tours are also offered for guests who would like a more intimate campus experience. The fee schedule is given at the bottom of this page. Reservations: Group tours must be reserved two weeks in advance through our automated online reservation system. For additional information regarding a campus visit, please call (510) 642-5215. UC departments wishing to schedule a tour should call extension 2-5215.

Group tour days and times

Group tour days and times: Group tours are offered weekdays only, Monday through Friday during the academic year, excluding some university holidays and break periods. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.

Tours are offered at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. Tours are 90 minutes in duration except those for middle school groups, which are 60 minutes long. Please see our CalKids page for information on self-guided elementary school tours.

Fall 2009

  • Online group tour reservations for the fall 2009 semester can be made starting August 17, 2009.
  • Group tours will be offered Monday through Friday between September 21 and December 4, 2009.
  • No tours will be available on the following holidays...
    Homecoming, October 2, 2009
    Veterans Day, November 11, 2009
    Thanksgiving, November 26 and 27, 2009
  • No group tours will be offered after December 4, 2009, until the start of the spring semester.

Spring 2010

  • Online group tour reservations for the spring 2010 semester can be made starting January 19, 2010.
  • Group tours will be offered Monday through Friday between February 16 and May 7, 2010.
  • No Group tours will be available March 22 through March 26 for the spring break vacation.
  • No group tours will be offered after May 7, 2010, until the start of the summer semester.

Fees

Tours are free to California middle school, high school, and college groups. For private, nonprofit, and out-of-state school groups, the following fees will be assessed:

  • 1-35 people: $50
  • 36-50 people: $70
  • 51-70 people: $90
  • 71-100 people: $110
  • 100+ people: Please contact the tour coordinator at (510) 642-5215

UC Berkeley Departments will be charged a reduced fee of $25 per 35 persons.
