Reserved group tours

We have been experiencing a malfunction of the tour reservation system. If you do not see a confirmation summary and/or do not receive a confirmation e-mail, please e-mail tour@berkeley.edu and a confirmation will be prepared for you. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Advance tour reservation is required for parties of 10 or more, school and community groups, non-profit organizations, camps, companies, and any small group that prefers a private tour. Tours are free for California schools; fees will apply for all other groups. Please see the fee schedule at the bottom of this page.

Elementary school tours (K-5th grade) are no longer offered. Please see our CalKids page for information on self-guided elementary school tours.

Group and private tour reservations must be made at least 14 days in advance and are made through the online tour reservation system.

Individuals and families wishing to tour the campus should read about the daily public walking tour.

Group tour days and times

Group tours are available, on weekdays only, during most of the spring, summer, and fall semesters. They are not offered during semester breaks, the first few weeks of a semester, and during finals.

Tours are offered at 10 am, 11:30 am, 1 pm, and 2 pm, Monday through Friday. Tours are 90 minutes long, except middle school tours, which are 60 minutes long.

Sapce is limited, and availability is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Reservations and Tour Schedule

Fall 2014

Fall 2014 group tours will be offered between Monday, September 22-Friday, December 5, 2014.
Group tours are not be offered on weekends and campus academic and administrative holidays: Veteran's Day, November 11; Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Thursday and Friday, November 27-28.

Spring 2014

Spring 2015 group tours will be offered between Tuesday, February 17-Friday, May 1, 2015.
The reservation calendar will be posted during the last week of January 2015.
Group tours will not be offered on weekends, campus academic and administrative holidays and spring break.

Fees

Tours are free to California middle school, high school, and college groups. For private, nonprofit, and out-of-state school groups, the following fees will be assessed:

1-35 people: $50
36-50 people: $70
51-70 people: $90
71-100 people: $110
100+ people: Please contact the tour coordinator at (510) 642-5216

UC Berkeley departments will be charged a reduced fee of $25 per 35 persons.

Reservations

Group tours must be reserved two weeks in advance through our automated online reservation system. Reservations are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Visitor Services is not able to provide tours other than those appearing on the reservation calendar.
