Staying in the Berkeley Area

Interested in becoming a tour guide?

The UC Berkeley Visitor Center will begin hiring at the end of the fall semester! We are looking to bring on enthusiastic, well-spoken, and diverse students to join our staff of campus ambassadors to help welcome thousands of prospective students, parents, VIP's, donors, alumni, and tourists to our campus. Applications will be available starting November 21st and will be due by 4pm on December 5th.

We generally hire undergraduate students who have completed their first year at Cal and who will have at least a year remaining on campus to provide tours. We require new guides to be available to work the first summer after being hired. The position pays about $10 per hour and involves anywhere from five to ten hours work per week, depending upon the season. We value diversity and encourage people from all departments, majors, activities, interests and backgrounds to apply. Multiple language speakers are much appreciated. Thanks for your interest in becoming a Campus Ambassador!
